For this project, I was assigned to create an album cover inspired by a song by exploring typography and lettering. We were required to listen to a song, analyze its meaning, and dissect its main concept. I had to use the main concept to create a design.  I started by sketching my ideas down as well as doing research. This project was done using Illustrator and Photoshop.

This album is a combined inspiration of the song Suspirium by Thom Yorke and the horror movie Suspiria. The song and the movie manifest an unpredictable uncanny world I attempt to represent using type.  I decided to use two different typefaces with distorted characteristics to highlight the movie's uneasy supernatural scenes and the song's melancholic lyrics, which talk about the parallel worlds of life and death. The movie's 1977 psychedelic aesthetic inspires the color palette in contrast with the new version, where the colors are washed out.
